We recognize the important role Eagle titleholders serve within our community and the responsibility that comes with that visibility. Our titleholders are expected to uphold the values of integrity, respect, and leadership throughout their title year.
As part of our commitment to maintaining these standards, background checks are conducted as part of the titleholder process. Individuals who are registered sex offenders are not eligible to compete for Eagle titles.
These standards exist to protect the integrity of our titles and the trust placed in them by our community.
In addition, Eagle titleholders are expected to give back to the community. As part of their title year, each titleholder is required to actively raise funds and awareness for a charitable organization of their choice. Many of our titleholders support causes that reflect the values of our community, including organizations focused on civil liberties, such as the ACLU, groups that support legislation to prevent sexual abuse and protect victims like HRC, organizations that focus on Sexual health and HIV prevention for LGBTQ+ folks like ASHwell, NS3 and Kind Clinic, among other local nonprofits. This tradition reflects the Eagle’s longstanding commitment to service, philanthropy, and strengthening the communities we represent.
